Mary Carol Knight, 46, of Murfreesboro, TN had her ultimate victory over breast cancer and went to be with Jesus and her heavenly family on Sunday, May 28, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time she passed.
Mary Carol was born on February 19, 1977, in Nashville, TN. Her parents are Carolyn H. (J.F.) Johnson and James D. (Jackie) Cox. In 2004, she met the love of her life, Kerry Knight, and they wed on October 21st, 2006, going on to have five children, Mary Grace, Hannah, Addison, Caleb, and Joseph.
She is also survived by her sisters, Rhiannon Cox, Heather (Jay) Massey, Lynne Elrod, and Lora (Steve) Taylor; her brother, Bruce (Charnell) Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
When Mary Carol started having children, she decided to dedicate her life to raising her children according to the Word of God and to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family. Her passion to influence her children led to her becoming her children’s primary educator as a homeschool mom.
Mary Carol loved the outdoors and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in the garden, on the beach, hiking, or even riding her favorite roller coasters.
She also enjoyed indoor activities as well. She fulfilled her creative side by quilting, cross-stitching, baking, and crafting.
As a devoted member of Joy Church International in Mount Juliet, TN for over 14 years, she served in the Kids ministry and with the Kids Praise Team. She was also the stage director of C.A.S.T. and a tutor at Roots Classical Tutorial.
She will be met in heaven by her grandparents, Mary June and Leo F. Hall and Dessie and Malcolm Cox.
