God is good all the time…..
Hello and once again I must apologize for it being so long since we have sent out an update.
On our last update we had been in the hospital and released home under Hospice. As we have mentioned before, we are doing daily IV therapies and one of the blessings from the hospital visit in March was that we got a midline put in which allows my healed wife to continue with her IV therapies without wearing out her veins.
Since returning home, my healed wife has been bedridden while we wait for the manifestation of her healing. She has not put her feet on the ground since mid-March. We have had cycles of nausea and constipation that we have been able to work through. We had been continuing with the therapies and got to the point where my healed wife stated, “I know I have not been out of bed, but I feel healthier today than I did before the hospital visit in March.” Praise God for that!!! (Before the visit she was walking to the bathroom with the help of a walker but still felt healthier the day she made that statement.)
The hospice nurse was changing the dressing on her line and accidentally pulled the line partially out and put it back in. It was a rather traumatic event for my healed wife as she almost passed out several times during the process. That was followed by a few of the worst nights we have had so far regarding her comfort. Within the next few days, the line stopped working and her veins were collapsing, and we had to stop the IV therapy. So, to get the line removed and a new line put in, we would need to go to a hospital. Not a lot of good stuff was going on all at once.
But God….
We needed to get to a hospital to get the procedure completed to remove the midline and replace it. My healed wife would need an ambulance to transport her to wherever we needed to go. We ran some blood work and her red blood was a little low. After some prayer we decided to go to the ER via ambulance with two goals in mind. To get some blood to help bring her levels back up and to get a PICC line. We got to the hospital and the ER was ready to admit us to the hospital. The Hospital director got the story all confused and came in ready to send us home without anything. She had a “you don’t come in here telling us what to do” kinda attitude. Halfway through the conversation the Lord changed her heart and she agreed to at least removing the line that was not working and putting in a new one.
We ended up in the hospital for two days, got the line removed, a new and better line put in (the new line should last a year), a blood transfusion, and a bonus infusion of platelets! We went from almost being sent home empty handed to getting everything we had hoped for and then an added bonus of the platelets. Praise God!
The enemy keeps trying to throw roadblocks and stop our progress, but God continues to have our back. He is so good and so faithful. We are back home under hospice care and although her body has been slow to manifest God’s healing, He continues to let His presence be felt and known. He has got this! The healing is from the blood of Jesus, the protocols are just to help manifest it in her body.
We love you all and thank you for your continued love, support, and prayers.
….All the time God is good.
