We got snow yesterday….
At least six inches…
It is still here today….
It will still be here tomorrow…
Unusual for Tennessee….
I grew up with snow….
I loved it….
I always looked forward to it…
Sledding….
Skiing….
Snowmobiling….
It always brought great fun….
Living in Tennessee….
My children don’t see it as much as I did….
But they love it just the same….
No one in our house was ever more excited for snow…
Then my healed wife….
A missed forecast of snow could ruin her day if she let it….
In one way or another yesterday….
Each child shared the thought….
Mom would have loved this….
It was not with sorrow….
It was not with pain…
It was with joy….
With happy memories…
They have hope….
The beautiful hope that is in Jesus….
We made a trip several years ago to Michigan….
I was on business…
The family went to enjoy the winter while I worked….
Walk on the ice….
Play in the snow…
Sled….
We found a few videos…..
Videos of the children sledding….
And my healed wife laughing….
It was unexpected….
It was so awesome….
There was no awkward silence….
There was no set back in our joy….
It was beautiful to hear her laugh….
It made the moment even better….
My youngest son said later in the day….
Dad, I forget what her voice sounds like….
I explained we have old voicemails…
We have old videos….
We can fix that….
He smiled big and went back to playing in the snow….
My children have peace….
They have comfort….
They miss her….
But they have peace….
They know they are not alone…
They know God is with them….
With every breath they take….
He is with them….
They have peace….
They have hope…
In Him….
Because they have watched God work in me….
Because they have followed my lead….
Leaning into Him during this time….
I did not know what to do….
They did not know what to do…
We did all we know how to do….
Lean into God….
Trust in Jesus….
Putting more faith in Him and His Word than ever before….
The Bible says to seek first His Kingdom….
We did not have to look far….
He was right there…
Right beside us….
We have drawn near to him….
He has drawn near to us….
Our peace is unexplainable….
Unless you understand the peace of God….
His mercy….
His grace….
His faithfulness…
His goodness….
His love….
The peace of God….
It transcends all understandfing….
It has become heavy on my heart….
To help others….
To help others find peace….
Our situation is not unique….
Everyone has tragedy in life….
Most much worse than ours….
It breaks my heart to think…
Of anyone going through their tragedy….
Without giving it all to Him….
People who don’t know Jesus….
People who do know Jesus….
Anybody that tries to carry the pain on their own….
They are on my heart….
To help them find peace….
True peace…
I have struggled with pride….
I am the provider….
I am the fixer….
I am the source for my family….
The only source….
He has taken what the enemy mean for evil….
And turned it for good….
He has used this season…
Used it to teach me….
I now know….
I am the provider….
I am the fixer…..
I can make it better….
For my family….
But I am not the source….
He is my source….
Through Him….
I can be the provider….
The leader He has designed m to be….
Through Him…..
I can show my children….
Peace….
Joy….
Love….
Faithfulness…
Kindness…
Goodness…
Through Him….
I can show my children how to walk through adversity….
With Him….
I can show them peace in adversity….
With Him…
I can show them joy in adversity….
With Him….
I can show them love in adversity….
He is the source…
Not me….
I am the vessel on earth….
Created to spread the Word….
He has been so faithful….
He has been so good….
I have a new understanding….
Of Him….
I drew near to Him….
He drew near to me…..
I have a new understanding….
Of surrender….
I have learned a new level….
Of truly giving myself to Him….
Of not holding back in any area of my life….
I give Him my thoughts…
I give Him my time…
I give Him my intentions….
I give Him my love…
I give Him my children…
I give Him my finances….
I give Him my career….
I give Him my relationships….
I give it all….
He gives me peace….
Peace in the most uncomfortable decision this pride filled body could make…
Complete surrender….
Some friends support it….
Some do not….
Some don’t care….
He has brought me new and beautiful relationships…
That do care….
Regardless….
Complete surrender….
God loves it….
He supports it….
He loves the life He has planned for us….
His ways are better than my ways….
I have forced my ways for 54 years….
I am ready to walk in His ways….
Wherever that takes me…
I will take every step with Him….
I will take every step for Him….
He has put it on my heart to tell more….
Tell more about our journey….
Tell more about Him….
So here I am….
Telling more….
About Him….
With Him…..
This has been a beautiful horrible experience….
With Him….
I am a peaceful wreck….
Without Him….
It has been a horrible experience….
Without Him….
I am a wreck….
He is the source of the beautiful….
He is the source of the peace….
He is the source of all that is good….
He will never leave us….
Nor forsake us….
….. all the time God is Good

Bless you. , my friend whom I have not met. but whose heart beats with his loved one in Heaven as my heart beats with my sweet Bob in Heaven. What a treasure God gave me in him! Our children are all grown and gone…it is Jesus and me every moment, every day. The joy is unbelievable. My Bob is with Jesus!!! Your challenges are much greater than mine, I am sure. But we both have the same Almighty God who knows every one of them!
