We were blessed with a trip to the beach….
My healed wife’s favorite vacation….
Her beach of choice….
A beautiful family beach….
Not a beach party atmosphere….
But more of a family atmosphere…
Navarre….
We had not been there in 6 years….
It used to be an annual tradition….
She has talked for years about wanting to return….
To return to tradition….
The tradition of going there yearly….
Investing in our family….
Not just fun….
Not just a beach….
Traditions and memories…
A puzzle when we rest from the sun.…
The simple joy of picking the puzzle…
A trip to the airplane museum….
Every year….
At the children’s request….
To give up a day at the beach…
To go to a museum ….
A jellyfish sting…
A crab in the swimming pool….
Memories….
Not just a beach….
But growth as a family….
Bonding….
Connecting….
Creating memories…..
Endless memories….
Everlasting memories….
Like we did before life got too busy…
And the annual trip to Navarre got pushed aside….
It was only going to be for a year….
Then two….
Ok, next year we will fit it in….
That is what we would say…
How we would justify….
Justify not investing in our family….
Now six years later….
We are back….
It was awesome….
It was bonding…..
It was healthy….
It was comforting….
But it was not quite the same….
She was with us….
But it was not quite the same….
A new normal….
A new way of living with her….
Not being able to hold her hand….
But have her in our heart….
Not able to hear her laugh….
But to be able to feel her joy….
The trip was awesome….
The drive….
Not so much….
It was an emotional rollercoaster….
Too much time….
Time to think….
Missing her in the flesh….
Rejoicing with her in the Spirit….
Back and forth….
Praising God through the entire ride….
He was there….
Through the pain…
Through the joy….
He was the joy…
He was the comfort in the pain…
He will make purpose out of this pain….
What the enemy meant for evil He will turn to good….
We took this trip in honor of her….
We always took family pictures….
With matching clothes….
We wore purple this year….
Her favorite color….
The trip was healing….
He provided the means….
We continued to heal….
We connected with an old friend….
A friend we made many years ago…
A Navarre local….
Who has loved on us since we met him…
It was so good to see him….
God has us…
He is loving us every step….
Healing….
Mending….
Comforting….
Loving….
The children are amazing….
They inspire me….
They always encourage me….
Lifting me up….
Constantly…..
The never take their eye off of me….
I can’t sigh without them noticing….
Without it being followed by a loving touch….
A loving hug….
They are watching….
They notice….
Everything….
They care….
About everything….
They care…
About me…
They take care of me…
The fill me with so much love…
So much joy….
We are in this together….
All of us pointing to Him….
Resting in Him….
Giving it all to Him….
He has got this….
We have got this….
We are never alone….
His hand is in all that we do….
Carrying us….
Holding us…..
Loving us…..
….. all the time God is good!
